At Schaduf, nestled here in Soma Bay, we have poured our passion for Egypt’s unique landscape into shaping the masterplan and landscape design for Blanca Gardens. Our vision was to craft a harmonious dialogue between the built environment and the stunning coastal setting—creating a sanctuary where nature’s serenity blends seamlessly with modern living.
The masterplan unfolds as a series of interconnected residential clusters, each thoughtfully oriented to capture breathtaking views of the azure Red Sea and the surrounding natural topography. Meandering pathways and pedestrian spines weave through the development, inviting exploration while nurturing a strong sense of community. These pathways serve as more than circulation routes; they are integral landscape elements that transition gracefully between public and private realms.
Central to Blanca Gardens is a network of lush green spaces—the lungs of the development. From expansive parks designed as vibrant social hubs with shaded gathering areas and recreational facilities, to intimate pocket gardens nestled within residential clusters offering tranquil retreats, every green space celebrates the beauty of native and drought-tolerant plants. Picture the gentle sway of Panicum turgidum grasses in the sea breeze, vibrant Hibiscus sabdariffa blossoms adding bursts of color, and the textured canopies of Acacia tortilis providing soothing shade.
Water, a precious resource in this desert environment, is thoughtfully integrated through features such as cascading fountains and reflective pools that not only delight the senses but create microclimates that support lush vegetation and promote well-being. Sustainable water management, including rainwater harvesting and efficient irrigation, is at the core of our design.
The landscape seamlessly extends into private gardens and outdoor living spaces, envisioned as natural extensions of interiors. Terraces and patios offer privacy while maintaining a connection with the surrounding environment. Locally sourced stone and textured concrete paving complement the architectural style and enrich the tactile experience of outdoor spaces.
Subtle elevation changes create visual interest and define distinct landscape zones. Natural boulders and rock formations ground the design in the site’s geology, while thoughtfully designed lighting enhances beauty and safety, highlighting key features and guiding safe pedestrian movement after dusk.
Schaduf’s vision for Blanca Gardens is to cultivate a living landscape that delights the senses and fosters a profound connection with nature. Through thoughtful design and sustainable principles, we aim to create an exceptional living experience that honors the unique spirit of Soma Bay—a verdant sanctuary for its residents to cherish.
